THE ISSUES DEFINING OUR FUTURE
Lower Costs for Families
Working families are doing everything right and still battling to stay afloat.
The cost of starting and raising a family has skyrocketed, from childcare and housing to groceries and health care. That’s not just a budgeting problem; it’s a priorities problem.
As your candidate, I believe Harrisburg must do more to lower costs for people trying to buy their first home, parents searching for affordable childcare, and families stretched thin by rising utility bills.
We should be investing in tax relief for working families, expanding access to quality early childhood education, and making sure no parent has to choose between a paycheck and caring for their child. If we want our city to grow and thrive, we need to make it affordable to build a life right here at home.
Investing in Education
We need to put education first by recognizing that success doesn’t come in just one form.
For too long, we’ve treated a four-year college degree as the only path to a good life, while overlooking the dignity and opportunity found in the skilled trades. By introducing students early to hands-on vocational programs, whether in carpentry, electrical work, healthcare technology, or advanced manufacturing, we can open their eyes to high-paying, in-demand careers that don’t require decades of debt.
When we familiarize young people with the trades in middle and high school, we give them real options, real skills, and real confidence about their future. Prioritizing vocational education is expanding opportunity and building the workforce our community needs to thrive.
Make Healthcare Affordable
Families are feeling squeezed every time they pick up a prescription, pay a premium, or open a hospital bill and with growing uncertainty and pullback at the federal level, the commonwealth must be ready to stand up and lead.
We cannot sit back while healthcare costs continue to rise and coverage becomes harder to access.
As your candidate, I believe Pennsylvania has a responsibility to protect families by expanding access to affordable coverage, lowering out-of-pocket costs, and holding insurers and drug companies accountable.
Healthcare isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity. If Washington won’t fully protect our families from rising costs, then Harrisburg must step up and ensure every Pennsylvanian can get the care they need without risking financial ruin.
